The Road Ahead 2018: The Conversation Continues

Clackamas County has heard from cities and businesses that a countywide vehicle registration fee (VRF) is needed to relieve congestion, increase safety and maintain local roads.

Right now, as the only county in the metropolitan area without a local source of road funds, the county and cities just don’t have the funds to meet those needs. The county and cities do all have transportation system plans vetted by the community with lots of identified needs. The County Board of Commissioners has the authority to create a county-wide VRF, and county and city officials think it is time, so they can meet the top local transportation needs for our businesses and residents.

Learn more about how a countywide vehicle registration fee could finally allow them to begin to meet those needs with Dan Johnson, Clackamas County’s Director of Transportation & Development.
